« GTi » is an adaptation of the term « GT » and signifies « Grand Tourer Injection ». It applies to vehicles ta combine a sporty design with high performance. At Peugeot, this term has gone down in history with the legendary 205 GTi model.
A little more than 30 years after its creation, Peugeot is reinterpreting the legend in an even more radical 208 hp version. With its positive handling and agile driving, the 208 GTi shows once again that the driving experience, sportiness and efficiency are part of the Lion’s heritage and in its genes.
The third production vehicle developed by the engineers at Peugeot Sport, the 308 GTi is powered by the 1.6 THP S&S 270 hp engine. Equipped with 380 mm front disk brakes, 19” wheels fitted with Michelin Super Sport tyres, a limited-slip Torsen differential and a chassis lowered to 11 mm, it hugs the road and is capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/hr in 6 seconds and covers 1000m in 25.3 seconds from a standing start. Its record power to weight ratio is 4.46 kg per hp and it emits only 139 grams of CO2 per km.
For PEUGEOT, « GT » (GT meaning “Grand Tourer”, from the Italian “Fran Turismo”), emblematic in the history of cars, has a very specific meaning which helps the brand stand out from the crowd and enhance the status of the driver.
